Guidelines & Eligibility
To ensure the integrity of the Saskatchewan Indigenous Music Awards, we have established clear criteria for all participating artists and groups.
Residency & Heritage: All nominees must be Indigenous artists and currently residing within the province of Saskatchewan.
Recent Activity: Nominees must have released a professional recording or performed a live show within the past 12 months to be considered.
Evaluation Criteria: The selection committee evaluates entries based on artistic merit, cultural significance, and community impact.
Youth Category: This dedicated category is specifically for Saskatchewan Indigenous people 18 years and younger. Youth need only submit: a photo, short biography and a video clip or link to a video of them performing to qualify.

Submissions open July 1, 2026 and close July 22, 2026
All entries must include the following to qualify:
1. Photo of artist/group
2. mp3 file of the song submitted (links will not be accepted)
3. Short biography of the artist/group (250 word max)
Please note that the quality and completeness of your submission will be a key factor in the short-listing process.
Please ensure that all required files are included with your submission, as we will not contact applicants regarding missing files.
Incomlete submissions may affect the quality of your application and your consideration during the short-listing process.
Please do not submit duplicate applications, as only one submission per applicant, per category will be considered.
We will not edit submissions on your behalf.
